The PEOPLE Chronicles

ACCESS THE STORIES BY CLICKING ON THE BALLS TO THE LEFT!

EACH BALL REPRESENTS A THEME OF STORIES.

What are the PEOPLE Chronicles?

That's easy.  They are our collective community conversations and storytelling.  Telling stories is how we share experiences, understand each other and create communities. Every conversation is full of stories. The response to the idea of telling our community stories has been so overwhelming that we have decided to collect the stories under one of three themes.   Each theme has its own tab on this site.  The themes are described below:

Theme #1 - I Chose to Stay - We all have heard the stories of businesses, non-profits, or individuals who have left the community.  We want to hear from the people who have made the CHOICE to stay in our community.  We want to learn about why people stay and what the impact of that choice has been.

Theme #2 - Innovation in Action - Businesses, non-profits and individuals have had to be very creative in the last few years to just "make it happen" for them.  These are stories of doing whatever it takes to get it done.  Stories of resilience, hope, motivation, grit and determination.  We want to hear those stories and learn from them.  We want to understand what it took for that business, non-profit or individual to just do it - in spite of adversity.

Theme #3 - The Invisible Obvious - These are stories about people, businesses and/or non-profitswhose work is visible to us everyday, but they themselves are invisible.  We want to provide a platform for people who are doing great work but do not have a voice to tell their stories.  We want to hear their stories so we can learn from the impact of those stories.  We want to make the invisible highly visible.

What is storytelling?

Storytelling is at the center of the human experience. It is a compelling form of communication. Through stories we let our communities know what is important to us: our struggles, successes and life lessons, our beliefs, our values, our traditions, our hopes and our dreams.

How does storytelling impact community?

  • Communities come alive through telling and retelling our stories.  Stories are told and retold in response to real community questions and needs.
  • Stories are what communities need to know that they know, that it is not all gloom and doom.  We have stories of resilience, motivation, innovation, and stories of life-sized, everyday heroes.
  • Storytelling builds relationships and creates opportunities for people to be heard.
  • Telling stories is a way to honor our past, describe our present and shape our future.  The future of our communities.

What's your story?

Access any and all of these three themes and their stories by hitting the orange balls on the side of  this page.   We will be posting new stories weekly.  Please subscribe to these stories and share them with others within our community.

Meet the HOSTS!

Jackie Hoffman - Morning Show Host

Rock Hits Y-102

Sometimes I cannot believe most of my life I have spent talking and playing music, its been 29 years!  I don't even think of this as a job.  The ride has been wild and somewhat adventurous.
I have met some of the nicest people who count on me to make them smile or pick them up with a song, or just be there when they are lonely and need a voice. It has been rewarding with fundraising and volunteering.

I enjoy the finer things in life. The change of seasons, a glass of wine, animals, all types of music, romance, my best girlfriends, and most importantly my awesome husband and my family, my children have always come first.   Selfish people have no rhyme or reason in my world.  Give until it hurts.  Live life the way you want, but be cautious. Don't hold back. each day is a gift.  You can't "learn" talent, use the gifts you have and remember ....you're blessed, not lucky.

The PEOPLE Chronicles Team

We believe in the power of the individual.  Everyone has a story to tell, but not everyone has a platform to share their stories, or more importantly they may not have a voice to tell that story.  The PEOPLE Chronicles is about providing the platform and the voice.  We need to hear from each other and learn from each other as a community.  We are passionate about this and we are honored to be able to share these stories with you.

- Toni Reece, President of The PEOPLE Academy, Inc.

Meet Donna Amos -

Behind the scenes marketing and technology guru - co-founder of The International Association of YOU - bringing our stories to life!

donna@theassociationofyou.org

After coaching for several years I felt poised to create the International Association of Solopreneurs. I had this desire to create an environment that would nurture solo business owners giving them the support and tools they need to create profitable businesses.I began supporting small business owners with their marketing efforts in the mid eighties.  Then I spent over 14 years as a sales trainer, corporate manager, and business coach for a national real estate company.

I have the same solopreneurial spirit that my clients do and love helping them learn how to love sales and marketing. I have developed systems and applications that helps others create effective business and marketing plans; create sales strategies and systems to manage their business with ease.  My business experience and formal training has helped me help others to succeed.

One of the things I am consistent about is keeping clients moving forward—involved in some sort of action that will bring results. I believe you can achieve anything you truly want to achieve. “It might sound trite, but time and time again, I’ve seen it happen with my clients.  They overcome the fear of exposing themselves to the possibility of failure to creating profitable exciting businesses.
